The Eco-Republic of Theritree, more commonly referred to as the Eco-Republic or Theritree, is a simulationist environmentalist micronation in southwest Idaho. Located on the grounds of Barbara Morgan STEM Academy, a school in Meridian, Idaho, the Eco-Republic of Theritree claims as its territory a single tree, referred to as the Great Tree, which the nation is named after. Founded on 5 May 2024, the micronation is intended to serve as a state for therians, as well as an environmental activism group.

Theritree is governed by a Council of Theriotypic Orders, each representing a family within biological taxonomy. Each Councillor has an equal vote in matters of state. Councillors are elected every 17 months, with the next election occuring in October of 2025.

Etymology

Theritree's name originates from a portmanteau of "therian" and "tree." These words were selected due to their importance to the concept of the nation.

Founding

Theritree was founded on 5 May 2024 by James, Councillor of Felids, and Tegan, Councillor of Canids.

Politics and government

Council of Theriotypic Orders

The Council of Theriotypic Orders, abbreviated to CTO, is the ruling body of Theritree. A democratic body in which each member has an equal vote, it serves to represent the citizens of Theritree. Currently, only two of the ten seats of the CTO are filled.

Law and order

The Council of Theriotypic Orders serves as the single court of Theritree. The Theritree Defense Force is the nation's gendarmerie and serves as a police force when needed.

Military

The only branch of Theritree's military is the Theritree Defense Force. It has a minimal combat capability due to its small size and lack of combat-effective weaponry.

Geography

Theritree is located on top of a small, two-foot rise. This is the only major geographical feature of the nation.

Flora

The Great Tree is a maple tree. Three different types of grass and a few small dandelions grow within Theritree's territory.

Fauna

Many species of birds nest within Theritree. Squirrels have been observed using Theritree as a nesting location and as a route of travel.

Economy

Theritree's economy is small and comparatively basic, mostly revolving around a service economy, with citizens making money in the surrounding macronation. It scores a 2.7 on the Economic Potential Index.

Industries

Theritree, being an environmentally-focused micronation, has relatively poor industrial capacity, with most products being made by hand in cottage industries.

Culture

The culture of Theritree reflects the aspects surrounding its founding. It has a strong emphasis on nature, with holidays celebrating the beginning of winter, spring, summer, and fall. From May 4th to 8th is Leafweek, the "holiday season" of Theritree.

The national language of Theritree is English. However, Russian, German, Japanese, and Spanish are used for certain official dealings within the Council of Theriotypic Orders.

Theritree lacks education facilities, necessitating the use of macronational schools. Schooling until the age of 18 is compulsory for all citizens.
