The Department of Culture was founded on 8 August 2020 as part of a Constitutional Reform. The primary function of the department is to direct and implement national policies on culture and arts, sports and science.

Each of the policy areas of the department vary widely and a Minister is allocated to each of the Department's jurisdiction, hence the Department of Culture is the only government department in Lehmark to have more than one Minister.

Arts and Culture Policy

The Faces of Lehmark Project was a project started by the Emperor and Autocrat in June 2020 and will be taken over by the Minister of Culture and Arts. The goal for this project is to have a total of 10 faces included by the end of 2020 and 30 faces by the end of 2021.

Once this goal has been reached, we hope to commission and a local sculptor or hopefully a Lehmarkian sculptor to aid in the design and completion of a monument for the Lehmark Capital State which represents Lehmark to the fullest.

Sports Policy

In August 2020 Lehmark changed our national sport from Reformer Pilates to Soccer.

In August 2021, Minister of Sports Anni Crowhurst founded Lehmark FC. The team has been competing in the MicroNations League Cup which was founded by Lordship Watitune of the New Weddington Isles. As of 24 January 2022, Lehmark FC Legends are currently placed 4th in the league.

We hope to develop infrastructure so that Citizens of Lehmark will be able to watch and potentially participate in these matches as well.

In late 2021, the Minister of Sport, looked into creating a second sports team. The second sport of the Nation was chosen as Cricket as it closely reflected the national sports of the Main Macronations that our citizens are a part of.

Science Policy

The Lehmark Space Agency was founded in November 2021. The Minister of Science is currently a holder of BMFA membership in order to be covered through insurance for proposed miniature rocketry launches. These are hoping to be commenced during the spring of 2022.

We will also begin the development of appropriate infrastructure so that Citizens of Lehmark will be able to view any rocket launches, rocket missions and any data collected by said mission.
